专利说明:
Title: Device for aging relatively large stones The invention relates to a device for aging bricks, in particular relatively large bricks, i.e. bricks that are larger than conventional bricks. The relatively large stones can for example be natural stones, baked stones or concrete stones. For various applications of bricks it is desirable that the bricks have an outdated appearance instead of a smooth, finished appearance. This entails that in many cases a manufacturing process of bricks must also include steps for accelerated and artificial aging of the bricks. For this purpose it is usual to carry out a so-called drum process, in which a rotatably arranged tube is used. A package of stones can then be aged by placing it in the tube and rotating the tube. Particularly by mutual movement of the stones, which is then caused as a result of the rotational movement of the tube, it is achieved that pieces jump off the corners and edges of the stones, and that scratches occur on the flat sides of the stones. originate. After the treatment in the tube, the stones are sorted by hand or with the aid of a sorting / stacking system and stacked to form a new package. The drum process described above is not suitable for aging relatively large stones. Such stones include stones in the form of tiles, wall elements and palisades. When relatively large stones are subjected to a drumming process, the damage that occurs is too great, and even the stones can break, so that they are no longer usable. In addition, performing a drum process for relatively large stones is a heavy burden for the operating staff, due to noise and formation of large amounts of dust. When the bricks are sorted and stacked by machine, manual assistance is required which takes the necessary time. Sorting and stacking relatively large stones by hand is very hard and dangerous work. It is an object of the invention to provide a device with which it is possible to give relatively large stones a naturally aged appearance without excessive damage and / or breakage, and without a heavy load for the operating personnel. This object is achieved by a device comprising the following components: - at least one carrier and at least one scraper element which is resiliently connected to the carrier; stone guiding means for supporting the stones, and for bringing at least one portion of the stones to be aged to contact with the scraper element; and - drive means for causing a mutual movement of the stones and the carrier with the scraper element. According to the invention, use is made of at least one resiliently arranged scraper element to process the corners, the edges and the flat sides of relatively large stones. During the treatment of stones in the device according to the invention, the stones are supported by the stone guide means and brought into contact with the scraper element, while the stones and the scraper element are moved relative to each other. This ensures that damage to the surface of the stones is obtained in a controlled manner. The resilient arrangement of the scraper element ensures that contact between the bricks and the scraper element occurs randomly during the treatment, thereby ensuring that the aged appearance of the bricks appears natural. In a practical embodiment the device according to the invention comprises at least one tube which is rotatably arranged around its longitudinal axis, wherein the carrier of the scraper element forms part of the tube, the scraper element being directed inwards from a circumference of the tube and wherein the driving means are adapted to cause the tube to rotate and to move the stones and the tube relative to each other in the longitudinal direction of the tube. The tube can have an adjustable diameter, so that it is possible to use one and the same device for aging various sizes of stones. At least two tubes as mentioned above can be used in the device according to the invention. These can then be arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction. In that case, for obtaining an aging image that is as natural as possible, it is preferable if the directions of rotation of successive tubes are opposite to each other. Multiple, parallel lines for aging the bricks can also be created by placing tubes next to each other. For the scraper element it holds that it is favorable if it is provided on a side which is intended to come into contact with the stones with a coarse structure of wear-resistant material. As a result, the scraper element is well able to apply the desired damage to the surface of the bricks, whereby it can remain effective for a longer period of time. For the purpose of realizing the resilient arrangement of the scraper element relative to the carrier, an adjustable spring is preferably applied, so that for each type of stone being treated, the effect of the scraper element on the stone can be optimally made by an appropriate adjustment to choose and implement the spring. Various embodiments are conceivable for the stone guide means. These means can for instance comprise a trough with at least three closed sides, wherein there are openings in the trough at the location of transitions between the sides. All edges of the stones are easily accessible in such a gutter. It is also possible, for example, for the stone guide means to comprise a number of driven wheels. It may be desirable to subject the ends of the bricks separately to an aging operation, for example in the case that the bricks are palisades. In view of this, the device according to the invention can further comprise the following components: a funnel-shaped nozzle; means for pressing stones against the nozzle; and means such as a motor for moving the nozzle. The mouthpiece can be designed in various suitable ways. For example, it may have plate elements whose mutual configuration substantially corresponds to the mutual configuration of sides of a truncated pyramid. Furthermore, the nozzle may have a central support, the plate elements being movably suspended from the support. The support piece can for instance be a plate with a square circumference, wherein each plate element extends at an angle of approximately 135 ° with respect to this plate element. Preferably, a surface of the nozzle intended to come into contact with the stones is provided with a coarse structure of wear-resistant material, as is also the case for the side of the scraper element intended to come into contact with the stones . According to the invention, an outdated appearance of large stones is obtained by scraping with one or more elements over the surface of the stones, in particular over edges of the stones. Hereby it is possible to properly control the degree of damage to the stones. Also, fracture of the stones can practically not occur. The disadvantages of a conventional drum process are therefore not applicable when applying the invention, while an aging result can be obtained which fully satisfies the wishes. Moreover, sorting and stacking of the bricks is considerably facilitated because the bricks and the means for performing the scraping operation are moved relative to each other in a controlled manner during the aging process carried out with the aid of the device according to the invention . The invention will be further elucidated with reference to the description below. Reference will be made herein to the drawing, in which like reference numerals indicate like or comparable parts, and in which: figure 1 schematically shows a side view of a device according to the invention and a palisade placed in the device; figure 2 schematically shows a front view of the device as shown in figure 1 and the palisade placed therein; Fig. 3 schematically shows a front view of a nozzle and a vibrating motor, which may be added to the device according to the invention as additional parts; Figure 4 schematically shows a side view of the nozzle and the vibrator as shown in Figure 3; and Figure 5 schematically shows a side view of the mouthpiece and the vibrating motor as shown in Figure 3, as well as of a palisade, transport rollers for supporting and advancing the palisade, and a mechanism for pressing the palisade onto the mouthpiece. In the following description of a device 1 according to the invention, it is assumed that it is used for aging palisades 30, that is to say piles which are intended to be used to be arranged next to each other and thereby form a palisade . However, this does not alter the fact that the device 1 according to the invention is also suitable for use in aging many other types of stones. The device 1 according to the invention comprises one or a number of tubes 10 placed one behind the other in the longitudinal direction. Steel scraper lips 20 are mounted on each of the tubes 10. In particular, the scraper lips 20 are resiliently suspended from the tubes 10 in such a way that they extend inwardly from the tube wall 11. For the scraper lips 20 it holds that on a side 21 facing the interior of the tube 10 a coarse structure of wear-resistant material is provided. The diameter of the tubes 10 is adapted to the size of the palisades 30 to be treated. In order to be able to use the tubes 10 for treating stones of various sizes, it is preferable if the diameter of the tubes 10 is adjustable. For the purpose of resilient suspension of the scraper lips 20, each scraper lip 20 is connected to a spring 22, while the scraper lip 20 is also attached to the tube 10 via a hinge 23. The spring 22 is preferably adjustable, so that it is possible for each type of stone to be treated to have the effect of the scraper lips 20 on the stones. Properties of the material of the stones, for example the hardness, determine, for example, whether the suspension should be stiffer or, on the contrary, weaker in order to obtain a good aging image. The tubes 10 are rotatably arranged around their longitudinal axis. For the purpose of realizing a rotational movement of the tubes 10, the device 1 according to the invention comprises suitable means such as a motor (not shown). In view of the desire to process the palisades 30 as diverse and randomly as possible in order to obtain a natural aging image, it is preferable if successively arranged tubes 10 are rotatable in opposite directions. The device 1 according to the invention comprises a stone guide gutter 40 with at least three sides 41 as shown in figure 2, which extends through the tubes 10. At the location where the sides 41 connect to each other, the stone guide channel 40 is provided with openings 42, so that edges 31 of the palisades 30 to be treated are freely accessible. An alternative to the stone guide channel 40 are rows of wheels (not shown) that can be driven. It is possible that the device 1 according to the invention is provided with at least two rows of tubes 10, so that several rows of palisades 30 can be subjected to an aging process simultaneously. By providing the desired number of rows, the device 1 can be given a desired capacity. If the palisades 30 are aged, then the tubes 10 with the scraper lips 20 are particularly suitable for aging the long edges 31 of the palisades 30. For aging the edges 32 at the ends, a separate part can be used, for example a funnel-shaped nozzle 50 as shown in figures 3-5, which is suitable for receiving an end portion of a palisade 30. In the example shown, the nozzle 50 has a central support 51 with a square circumference and four plate elements 52, each plate element 52 extending from one side of the central support 51 at an angle of approximately 135 ° with the central support 51. The plate elements 52 of the nozzle 50 serve to form interfaces for the edges 32 of the palisade 30 to be aged. During operation, the nozzle 50 is vibrated, so that the plate elements 52 touch the edges 32 randomly. A vibrating motor 60 is provided for this purpose. The plate elements 52 are provided with a coarse structure of wear-resistant material. The plate elements 52 are also movably suspended from the central support piece 51 in order to prevent repetition in the aging image even further. It can be seen in Figure 5 that suitable means such as transport rollers 70 can be used to move the palisade 30 toward the nozzle 50, and that a pressing mechanism 80 can be used to press the palisade 30 onto the nozzle 50. A length of the pressing mechanism 80 is preferably adjustable, so that it is suitable for use for palisades 30 of different lengths. In the example shown, the pressing mechanism 80 comprises a piston / cylinder device 81 and a rocking cam 82 to realize the pressing action. However, other embodiments of the pressing mechanism 80 are also conceivable within the scope of the invention. When the device 1 according to the invention with tubes 10 and vibrating mouth 50 as described above is used for aging palisades 30, the following steps are followed. The palisades 30 are placed one behind the other on a roller conveyor (not shown) or another suitable conveyor track and moved in the direction of a first tube 10. The palisades 30 are then moved over the stone guide gutter 40 through the tubes 10, for example by applying a suitable sliding system (not shown), the palisades 30 moving each other. In the meantime, the tubes 10 are rotated, so that the scraper lips 20 scrape over the long edges 31 of the palisades 30, whereby large and small pieces and chips are released from the long edges 31. The edges 31 are hereby broken and irregularly rounded. In order to uniformly treat all sides of the palisade 30, it is possible to choose to pass the palisade 30 through the tubes 10 several times, the palisade 30 then always being laid with a different side at the top in the stone guide gutter 40. In general, it holds that the speed at which the palisades 30 are moved through the tubes 10, also determines the aging on the edges of the palisades 30. In practice, therefore, a suitable value is chosen for this, and the means for advancing the palisades 30 is controlled accordingly. When a palisade 30 has passed the tubes 10, it is further transported to the nozzle 50 which is vibrated by means of the vibrating motor 60. The palisade 30 is pressed onto the mouthpiece 50 by means of the pressing mechanism 80 as shown in Fig. 5 or another suitable mechanism, so that it is achieved that the edges 32 and the corners on the front side of the palisade 30 which are thereby located in the mouthpiece 50, broken and irregularly rounded. Then, the palisade 30 can be moved sideways, so that the palisade 30 can be placed on a stack and there is room for a next palisade 30. Optionally, for the purpose of subjecting both front ends of the palisade 30 to an aging process, a second mouthpiece 50, or means may be provided to rotate the palisade 30 through 180 ° and thus bring a different end face to the nozzle 50. It will be clear to a person skilled in the art that the scope of the invention is not limited to the examples discussed above, but that various variations and modifications thereof are possible without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims . A device 1 for aging relatively large stones such as palisades 30 has been described in the foregoing. This aging device 1 comprises at least one tube 10 and at least one scraper lip 20 which is resiliently suspended from the tube 10 in such a way that it extends inwards from the tube wall 11. During operation of the aging device 1, the stones 30 are passed through the tube 10, in the longitudinal direction of the tube 10, and the tube 10 is rotated, the scraper lip 20 scraping over the surface of the stones 30. As a result, pieces of the edges 31 of the stones 30 are removed and scratches are applied to the sides of the stones 30, so that the stones 30 have a desired outdated appearance. Optionally, the aging device 1 comprises at least one additional component which is specially intended for processing end faces of the bricks 30. This component can for instance be a funnel-shaped nozzle 50, which has plate elements 52 which extend obliquely with respect to a longitudinal direction of the stones 30 to be treated, and which is moved by means of a vibrating motor 60. Unlike with a conventional drum process, in which stones are moved past each other in a tube, using an aging device 1 with at least one scraper lip 20 for processing the surface of the stones 30 achieves the degree of damage to large stones 30 can remain within acceptable limits and that fracture of the stones 30 cannot occur practically.
